River Battles Daytona State in Hard-Fought Home Contest
FORT PIERCE, FL - On Wednesday night, the River hosted Daytona State College and came up short in a hard-fought battle. The River showed stretches of great defense, often holding Daytona to a single shot or forcing turnovers. Although the River fell behind at times, they continued to fight and made several strong pushes to get back into the game.
Once again, it's clear the River can compete with anyone in the nation. They have all the tools—they just need to continue growing as a team and learn how to knock off ranked opponents. It's not easy, but this group has shown they are capable.
The River was led by Caleb Cameron, who recorded a double-double with 17 points and 16 rebounds, along with 3 steals. Adam Squire added 15 points, while Caleb Rivera provided a spark off the bench with 12 points. Isiah Cameron finished with 7 points, and Tamiel Green controlled the glass with 10 rebounds.
The River will be back in action on Saturday.
