River Battles in Tallahassee

River Battles in Tallahassee

TALLAHASSEE, FL - The River traveled to Tallahassee for the Florida College Men's Basketball Shootout and came out swinging.

They battled through a strong first half and went into the break leading 42–40, showing toughness and composure against a nationally ranked opponent.

But in the second half, turnovers proved costly as The River couldn't quite hold on, ultimately falling 97–85. Despite the loss, several players delivered standout performances.

Tamiel Green led the way with a dominant double-double, finishing with 19 points and 16 rebounds. Caleb Cameron continued his strong play, adding 18 points. Anthony Ferrer contributed 16 points and 6 rebounds, while Adam Squire chipped in 10 points to help keep the offense moving.

Even in defeat, The River once again showed they can compete with top-tier, nationally ranked teams. The gap is small — fixing the little things, especially in second halves, could be the key to taking down a powerhouse next time out.
