The River Ends Season with Thrilling 88-87 Win Over Santa Fe

FORT PIERCE, FL- Indian River State College men's basketball closed out the 2024-2025 season with an exciting win over Santa Fe College, securing an 88-87 victory in a thrilling finish. Before the tip-off, The River took a moment to recognize their sophomores, celebrating their contributions to the program.

The Pioneers took control early, heading into halftime with a solid 48-37 lead. Their offense was clicking on all cylinders, featuring great ball movement and a balanced attack of inside scoring and three-point shooting that kept the Saints' defense on its toes. Indian River's defense also played a key role, limiting Santa Fe's fast breaks and forcing them into contested shots. The Pioneers displayed efficiency on both ends of the court, with leadership and depth shining through.

Coming out of the break, the Saints made a strong push, tightening their defense and hitting some critical shots. However, the Pioneers remained calm under pressure, with key players stepping up when it mattered most. The River continued to showcase its balance, spreading the ball around and keeping Santa Fe from gaining too much momentum. Despite the Saints' fierce comeback, the Pioneers kept their composure, battling through the intensity.

As the game neared its conclusion, the score was tied at 87-87. With just seconds remaining, Indian River executed a perfectly timed play that resulted in a game-winning shot. The crowd erupted as the Pioneers secured an 88-87 victory.
