Titans Triumph Over Pioneers in Hard-Fought Battle
FORT PIERCE, FL- The Indian River State College men's basketball fought hard but fell short in their home game against Eastern Florida State College, ultimately losing 89-72. Despite a strong first-half performance, Indian River couldn't maintain momentum in the second half, allowing the visiting Titans to pull away.
The River came out energized and competitive in the first half. The game was a back-and-forth battle with both teams exchanging leads throughout the opening period. Indian River managed to stay within striking distance, trailing by just 10 points at the break, 46-36. The River's offense was efficient early, with several key players contributing to their scoring effort. Solid ball movement and inside scoring helped them stay in the game despite Eastern's fast-paced attack and perimeter shooting.
The second half, however, was a different story. Indian River came out of the locker room looking to trim the deficit, but the Titans quickly established control. Eastern went on a dominant 15-2 run early in the second half, stretching their lead to 20 points and forcing the River to play catch-up. Despite a few spurts of offense, Indian River struggled with turnovers and missed opportunities, unable to capitalize on key moments.
