Indian River Falls to Miami Dade
FORT PIERCE, FL- In a hard-fought game that showed plenty of promise early on, Indian River State College men's basketball was ultimately outmatched by a strong second-half performance from Miami Dade College. After a competitive first half, Indian River couldn't find enough rhythm to keep pace, falling to Miami Dade by a final score of 71-59.
The River came out with energy and determination, looking to make an early statement. Despite trailing 38-26 at halftime, there was still plenty of fight left in the team, and the game remained within reach.
The second half began with Indian River showing signs of life, playing aggressively and scoring quick points. However, the Sharks responded with a run of their own, pushing the lead back to double digits midway through the second period. In the final minutes, Miami Dade's lead grew as The River became increasingly frustrated. Indian River had opportunities to close the gap, but missed shots and defensive lapses allowed the Sharks to extend their lead to 12 points, ultimately sealing the victory.

Indian River's next challenge will be at home on Wednesday, January 15, against Eastern Florida State College. Tip-off is set for 5:00 p.m.
