The River Tops North Florida Prep

FORT PIERCE, FL- This Veterans Classic Weekend got off to a great start! Hosting the annual Veterans Day Classic, Indian River took on North Florida Prep in an exciting game and defeated them 117-90 in a high-scoring affair. The Pioneers led by 13 at halftime, 56-43, after a strong opening 20 minutes where they showcased their speed, shooting, and depth.

In the second half, Indian River's fast breaks and sharp shooting kept the pressure on. However, North Florida Prep took this as a challenge and managed to catch up, even overtaking IRSC by 1 point at 74-73. The Pioneers didn't take this lightly and immediately regained the lead at 76-74. The team's ability to score in transition and from long range proved too much for North Florida Prep, who couldn't keep up despite some solid individual efforts.

• Marius Canery contributed 18 points with 2 rebounds and 12 assists.
