It's not too late to still signup for the Indian River State College women's basketball program summer camps set to start next Monday.
Head Coach Diana Couch announced earlier last month the new summer camp schedule starting with Pioneer Camp. Pioneer Camp is more of a traditional camp that is offered to girls ages 7-18 and will run from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., June 12-15th. The morning segment of camp will focus on fundamental concepts including shooting, footwork, rebounding, ball handling, offensive and defensive concepts. The campers will then be placed on teams in the afternoon and compete while applying the emphasized skills learned in the morning session. Campers will work alongside IRSC women's basketball players and coaches. The cost of camp is $100 per camper to include a camp t-shirts.
Pioneer Training Camp returns for the third year and is open to girl's grades 7 -12th and will run from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., June 12-15th. This camp is designed to assist in teaching and performing advanced basketball conditioning drills. Campers will work along side IRSC women's basketball players as they train with hurdles, plyo boxes, speed training, circuits and various other cardio workouts. The cost for camp is $40 per camper, however a $10 discount will be given if registered with the Pioneer Camp.
The camps will be held on the Indian River State College campus in Fort Pierce in the spacious, air conditioned River gymnasium. Campers are encouraged to bring water bottles, wear basketball clothing with basketball shoes and socks. A concession stand will be available for all camps.
