The River found themselves in a hit fest against ASA College in the first game of the three-game series.
ASA totaled 14 hits and scored 12 runs in the contest and IRSC had 10 hits and scored 6 runs. Hunter Holland and Cole Brutcher were a force for The River offense on the day. Holland went 3-4 driving in one run, and Brutcher went 2-4 driving in 3 runs. As a team, IRSC showed great patience and discipline at the plate which lead to 10 walks on the day.
Justin Alintoff got the start on the mound for The River where he continued to show his dominant strikeout stuff. Alintoff went 4 innings surrendering 1 earned run and striking out 8 ASA hitters. Zach Audet, Travis Perry, and Christian O'Kelly all contributed out of the pen for the Pioneers in the 12-6 loss.
